| Images from my tesselation "Angels", carved and painted on the surface of a 127 mm (5 inch) diameter composite ball. The twelve tessellated figures are projected onto the 6 faces of a spherical cube. This work was inspired by M.C. Escher's 1942 work "Heaven & Hell" in which the images of 24 angels and devils were carved in a similar arrangement on a 235 mm (9-1/4") maple ball. |
